Studfold Caravan & Camping Park, Lofthouse, North Yorkshire, Yorkshire Dales

Studfold Caravan & Camping Park, just outside Lofthouse in Upper Nidderdale, is set in the beautiful county of North Yorkshire with Harrogate being the nearest large town It can be found seven miles north of Pateley Bridge, in beautiful hill country. An area designated as having outstanding natural beauty (AONB).

The park consists of a static caravan area and a camping and touring area. This is two acres of flat grassland with easy access and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. All pitches are grass; they are flat, well drained and a generous 14m x 10m in size. Electric hook-ups are available but appliances should be specifically designed for caravanning or camping.

There is a shop that supplies basic daily needs, sweets and ice cream, small toys and gifts. There is a large flat play area for children, ball games and socialising. There is also access to the beck running adjacent to the campsite but young children will need adult supervision here.

Studfold has 4 Glamping Pods. The pod has lighting and is fully insulated. Inside there are two bed bases that can be used as singles or fastened together to form a double, with plenty of carpeted floor space for a further two mattresses. A kettle is provided along with a small table, a fan heater and two electric sockets. Outside there is plenty of room for parking, a picnic bench, a fire pit and breath-taking views. Pod 2 is our pet friendly pod and does not contain bed bases.

At busy times there is a cafe on site serving delicious breakfasts, filling lunches and a fine selection of cakes and hot and cold drinks. They will also prepare picnics in wicker baskets that they take up to the picnic area on the Adventure Trail! During inclement weather there is a large camping shelter with its own bbq and pizza oven and plenty of undercover picnic benches.

The toilet block boasts excellent facilities and is cleaned regularly. There is disabled provision and 2 family rooms/baby change areas and a freezer for cold blocks. The pitch fees include showers, deep sinks and hair dryers in the ladies' facilities.

They sell WiFi vouchers and logs and hire out firepits. Ground fires are not allowed but you can bring your own bbq’s and firepits providing they offer protection to the grass.

There is plenty of space for touring caravans, tents and motorhomes and they are particularly keen to welcome families. Dogs are also welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times and walked off the site. Groups of 3 units or more must contact Studfold prior to booking. They do not accept bookings from groups of young adults unless they are supervised D of E groups.

The Adventure Trail is a must for families, with young children, to do whilst staying at Studfold. This needs to be booked separately but guests who are staying here will get a 2nd day free of charge. Lost Earth Adventures also have a base at Studfold and can offer bespoke outdoor pursuits to those in need of an adrenaline rush!

An automatic 25% is offered off the standard rate during local school term-time mid-week bookings. These are the quiet times but will still allow Studfold to be an excellent base for walking and sightseeing, as well as exploring neighbouring dales with their wealth of historical buildings and varied scenery. Alternatively, you can just relax and let the stress of everyday life slowly disappear as you take in the beauty and tranquillity of the Upper dale.

The caravan park also has a separate area for static caravans on which places occasionally become available and new and second hand caravans are sold.
