Mid Wales Bunkhouse, Tipi and Camping At Woodhouse Farm near Rhayader is great for a magical getaway. This site in Powys is surrounded by glorious countryside, offering the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life.
Nestled in tranquil, lush countryside, you can savour stunning views in all directions. This truly is ideal for the ultimate country hideaway. The site is available to all Club members and any non-members are welcome to join on arrival.
The level site has 5 individual pieces, each with electric. 10 non-electric pitches are also available. The spacious site offers plenty of space for family tents. Excellent facilities onsite include a toilet, shower and washing up facilities are available in the bunkhouse annexe. Additionally, there is a chemical toilet disposal point, plus a fresh water supply. An area for tents, rallies and other events during the summer months is available adjacent.
You can enjoy a touch of luxury in the delightful tipi, set in a peaceful and tranquil setting, offering outstanding views over the River Marteg and the Welsh hills. The tipi sleeps up to 6 people and comes with rugs, throws, cushions, camp beds, a double burner gas stove and a basic camp kitchen. A BBQ is also available for al fresco dining. A belle tent is also available.
They also offer accommodation in a bunkhouse which sleeps up to 20 people, great for groups or individuals. The bunkhouse can be let on a self catering basis or they can provide catering if booked beforehand. Upstairs there is a dormitory which sleeps 14 people, whilst downstairs there is a family room which sleeps 6, including disabled access. Facilities include a kitchen, washing and drying room, common/dining room and of course toilets and showers. Outside there is a covered verandah and garden, plus a BBQ and charcoal pizza oven.
This area of Wales is a haven for nature lovers, with lots of stunning scenery to discover. We are near the Elan and Wye Valleys, plus the Trans Cambraian Trail and Glyndwrs Way. Nearby there is the Lon Las Cymru cycle route, whilst the Radnorshire Ring, regional cycle route 25, also passes closeby. You can canoe or fish on the River Wye, whist The Gilfach Nature Reserve offers delightful spots for a relaxing picnic by the river.
