Rocks East Woodland in Ashwicke is ideal for campers, tourers and glampers looking for somewhere special to stay. The campsite near Chippenham is in beautiful woodland and the perfect base for exploring Wiltshire.

The campsite has three fields on the edge of a woodland, sheltered by trees. The forest also provides a home for deer, badgers, foxes, other smaller mammals. This is the ultimate tranquil breakaway. There are 25 pitches available in total for tents and tourers.

Just below the campsite, there is a yurt with its own woodland garden. It is beautifully insulated and comes with a double sofa bed and a single put-you-up bed. It also has electricity and a wood-burning stove. Logs for the stove may be purchased at the office. Outside there is a kettle BBQ, patio chairs and a table. There is also room for a small tent in the same location.

There is a range of excellent facilities onsite, including a log cabin and shop and toilet, shower and washing up facilities.

Outside you can huddle around the toasty campfire whilst gazing at the starry night sky.

The idyllic camping field is set in a private and tranquil area, with only 4 pitches on offer, ensuring plenty of space for relaxing and unwinding in. Each pitch includes a fire pit and all our guests have use of the heated shower and toilet, plus the communal area and pizza oven.

It is fully carpeted and furnished with wall art, rugs, scatter cushions, silk throws and painted storage boxes.

Gypsy Caravan: This authentic bow-top gypsy caravan offers luxury and beautiful furnishings throughout. It has been lovingly painted with traditional designs and is decorated with satin and tassels. The small double bed is perfect for those who want to cuddle up and enjoy the spirit of yesteryear.

They also have The Cabin. Inside there is a fully fitted kitchen with a range of superb appliances: pot, pans, crockery, fridge and freezer. Facilities also include a shower room and loo.

Both the yurt and gypsy caravan are in the corner of a wildflower meadow, reached through a wooded glade beside a stream. You can also enjoy relaxing around the fire pit and we provide a BBQ and starter supply of wood, kindling, firelighters and charcoal. We also provide picnic tables, benches and a swinging seat in a willow pyramid. On damp and cold days, you can visit the barn which has a wood burner and chairs to ensure you stay warm and toasty.

There is also an outside wood-fired oven where guests can bake bread, pizzas or anything else. It is undercover with comfortable seating.

When you hire the yurt you automatically hire a gypsy caravan for free for no extra cost. Dogs are welcome by arrangement – please enquire for details.
