Lundynant Holidays, Polzeath, Cornwall

Lundynant Holidays is a small, well-run campsite ideally situated on the beautiful North Coast of Cornwall in Polzeath. The site has direct footpath access to Polzeath Beach, just a short walk away. Lundynant is popular with both retired people and families.

There are static caravans available to rent and pitches for touring caravans/motorhomes and tents, most with electric hook up.

There are shower/toilet facilities and a small laundry room.

The campsite still values the ‘old fashioned’ approach, children playing, sitting under a star-lit sky, chatting over a glass of wine and most of all relaxing. There is no club or a bar, however, there are several excellent restaurants and pubs in Polzeath and nearby Rock. The beautiful Port Isaac (also known as Port Wenn to Doc Martin fans) is nearby.

The beach is a 5 to 10-minute walk away, where you will also find the village of Polzeath with a small supermarket, post office, food shops and cafes. There are also public houses in both Old and New Polzeath where they serve good food and local ales.

Chleire Haven, Oileán Chléire, Skibbereen, Co Cork

Chleire Haven is a glamping site located on Ireland's most southerly, Irish speaking inhabited island on Oileán Chléire (Cape Clear Island). It is 8 miles off the west coast of Co Cork near Skibbereen and is an ideal base for those who want a relaxing camping/glamping break. You are met by the owners at the ferry who collect your camping gear and bags for you, so you can relax from the moment you land on the island. Just phone or email before you come to book a pitch.

You have a choice for your holiday accommodation, all exciting in their own right and very different, the choice is yours. You can stay in one of the luxury yurts or a stylish bell tent. Alternatively, you could bring your own tent but check beforehand as there are limited pitches available.

For those of you craving a bit of adrenaline, why not book snorkelling, kayaking, sea and rock fishing or diving to the many wrecks surrounding the island? It is always best to pre-book these before you come. Going on a whale and dolphin watching trip, with seals, sharks, even leatherback turtles is a must for those wanting a sea adventure.

April and October are rare bird spotting times, as Cape Clear is on the migration paths. Visit in May for all the glorious wildflowers and a bit of basking shark spotting. June, the quiet start of summer, perfect for loving couples and sunny days. July for the warmth of the summer when the island is in full swing.

August sees the regatta, filling the small harbours to bursting point. September brings the magical International Storytelling Festival all over the island, with guests from around the world. October to March bring tranquillity to the island once more, with fewer visitors but still a warm welcome for those wanting to get away from it all.
