Wheal Vreagh Farm, Carleen, Helston, Cornwall
Wheal Vreagh Farm Campsite offers a welcoming, family-operated environment for touring vans, camping and glamping cabins, situated in the picturesque countryside located within the triangle formed by Penzance, Hayle and the historic market town of Helston. The campsite is a short drive from the stunning sandy shores of Praa Sands and the quaint harbour village of Porthleven, which caters to daily necessities and offers a wide variety of dining options.
Camping
Spanning two fields, our site features 17 pitches for touring and camping that can accommodate up to 6 people each, complete with electrical hookups. Picnic benches are provided for enjoying those warm, sunny evenings and for star gazing on clear nights, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Glamping
The Den: This accommodation is designed for 6 guests, featuring 3 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin, and 1 bunk bed), and offers a view over the field it shares with Stargazey Cabin and 5 camping pitches, making it perfect for larger gatherings of family and friends.
Stargazey Cabin: Ideal for a cosy retreat, this 2-bedroom cabin (1 double and 1 twin) serves as a wonderful base for exploring South West Cornwall. Its proximity to The Den makes it perfect for two families vacationing together.
Please be aware that The Den and Stargazey lack private toilet and shower facilities, which are instead provided via shared amenities on the campsite.
The Snuggery: Exclusively designed for couples, this self-contained cabin offers a private courtyard, an open-plan living and sleeping area and a separate shower/WC room. The surrounding granite walls ensure privacy for enjoyable evenings in the hot tub.
Facilities
Our toilet and shower block have been recently upgraded, featuring spacious family showers in both the men's and women's facilities. The washroom includes 4 sinks and a shared fridge freezer, while the laundry room is equipped with coin-operated washers and dryers. A chemical waste disposal site is also available for motorhomes and caravans.
The Area
The lovely village of Porthleven is located just three miles away where you will find a range of places to eat out. The sandy beach of Praa Sands is just over four miles away and the Flambards Theme Park is around five miles away meaning there is always something to do in the area.
