The Boatyard, Bishopsthorpe, York, North Yorkshire
Situated just south of York, The Boatyard boasts a picturesque riverside setting, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the majestic Bishopthorpe Palace. As a family-owned establishment, we're dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where everyone can find something to enjoy. Our offerings include a diverse menu of food and drinks, options for day boat, canoe and kayak rentals, distinctive overnight stays and permanent moorings.
The Boatyard is home to 27 caravan pitches, accommodating caravans, motorhomes and campervans. (Sorry, no tents please).

Primrose Cabin:
This traditional-style shepherd’s hut offers a snug retreat for couples seeking a short escape. Like all our cabins, it’s ready for your spontaneous staycation needs.
Rosebud Cabin:
Overlooking the outdoor seating area, willow tree and tipis, Rosebud Cabin is an enchanting, cosy spot with a small deck at the front, the ideal place for your morning cup of tea.
Chestnut Cabin:
Chestnut Cabin offers a delightful and enchanting stay. Prepared for your arrival, it includes bedding, towels, tea and coffee-making facilities, a TV, heating and board games, along with a private deck for enjoying the outdoors.
The Blue Cabin Shepherds Hut:
Ideal for a last-minute getaway for a family of four or two couples, this cabin features two double bunk beds, accommodating adults comfortably.
Honey Cabin Shepherds Hut:
Featuring a warm log burner, Honey Cabin is perfect for cosy winter visits but just as suitable for warmer seasons with its deck. It’s an excellent choice for couples looking for a retreat.
Located conveniently south of York, all our accommodation is a stone's throw from our beautiful new restaurant and terrace, Bosun’s.
You can enjoy a scenic walk from our site to York, mostly along the River Ouse, or opt for a bus, drive, or taxi to explore the historic city. Set against a natural backdrop, The Boatyard also offers direct access to the local countryside for those eager to explore nature on foot from any of our accommodation.
