Cheglinch Farm Glamping, Cheglinch, West Down, Ilfracombe, Devon

Cheglinch Farm Glamping is situated in a picturesque part of Devon, just a short drive away from the sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton, and Putsborough. Offering both glamping and wild camping experiences in separate locations, it serves as an ideal base for those seeking a retreat from the stresses of modern life.

In the glamping area, guests will find themselves nestled in one of the sheltered fields, surrounded by nature. The accommodation includes three Lotus Belle tents, each set on a wooden platform within their own designated area in the 4-acre field. These luxurious tents comfortably sleep four guests, with proper beds and mattresses made up of cow-themed duvet covers, perfect for families. Additionally, there's room for an additional baby or toddler. Private toilet facilities, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a gas barbecue, and a shower room are provided for guests' convenience.

A highlight for families is the play barn, accessible to all glampers, offering games and activities for children, along with shared dining facilities and kitchen amenities. The open space allows children to run and play freely and interact with the on-site animals, including guinea pigs and chickens. Unfortunately, dogs cannot be accommodated in the glamping area due to the presence of animals on-site.

For those seeking a wild camping experience, Cheglinch Farm offers a field on the outskirts of the farm during the summer months. Here, guests can enjoy open space, stunning views, and the tranquillity of the countryside. Basic facilities are provided, including a mains water tap, sink with cold water and toilet facilities. Showers are not available, but guests are welcome to bring their own portable ones. Dogs are welcome in the wild camping area, making it an ideal option for families.

The village of West Down is within walking distance, offering amenities such as a pub, community shop, and playing field. Nearby Ilfracombe provides additional attractions, including high street shops, supermarkets, and a public swimming pool. Visitors can explore the charming harbour, take fishing trips, visit Lundy Island, and indulge in fish and chips by the sea. A visit to the Victorian tunnels beaches, featuring tidal bathing pools and rock pools, is also recommended for a memorable seaside experience.
