Loch Ken Holiday Park is an award-winning holiday park with spectacular views down the Loch Ken and across the Galloway Hills. We are in a central location for those who want to explore Dumfries & Galloway and just a short drive from Castle Douglas at Parton. The campsite occupies ten acres on the boundary of the Bryson family, a six hundred acre stock farm. The fishing is excellent, many fishermen return each year to catch the famous Loch Ken pike, roach and perch.
Camping - Our tent field is the perfect place to pitch up and enjoy the great outdoors, surrounding natural beauty and experience the night sky like never before as you camp on the edge of the UK’s first dark sky park. With spacious tent pitches, easy access to the waterside for fishing and water sports, as well as popular walking and cycling routes close by, camping at Loch Ken, offers something for everyone.
All the amenities you would require for your camping holiday are located conveniently within the tent field. There are two very well equipped toilets and shower blocks with hot power showers and a separate modern, sheltered dishwashing area. Our beautiful savoury and aromatic herb garden is situated within the camping field and is open for all our campers to use for adding flavour to cooking and BBQs. Fire pits are allowed on Park provided that our grass is not damaged/burnt.
Touring - Loch Ken Holiday Park is home to 21 spacious pitches, most of which are hard standing, with a number of grass pitches available. All of our pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor homes and campervans with beautiful views looking onto the Loch and the surrounding countryside. Each pitch has a 16AMP electric hook up point, as well as space for an awning (if required) and vehicle parking alongside.
We take great pride at Loch Ken Holiday Park in the cleanliness and standards of our recently renovated toilet and shower facility block. With separate facilities for both ladies and gents, each block offers ‘free’ hot showers, hairdryers and a spacious family cubicle with baby changing facilities. In addition, we offer a private, heated disabled facility equipped with a toilet, washbasin and wet room style shower.
Our self-catering holiday homes are perfect for couples, friends and families. They allow guests to enjoy all the wonderful things this beautiful part of Scotland has to offer, without the hassle of setting up a tent. They are warm, cosy and consist of a Super Deluxe Waterfront, Deluxe Waterfront & Deluxe.
Some of the accommodation is pet friendly, so please do advise when booking if you are bringing a canine companion.
A peaceful haven in an area of outstanding beauty with a wealth of wildlife. Adjacent to the park are the RSPB bird reservation, the "Galloway Kite Trail" and the Galloway Forest Park which offers our visitors many opportunities to walk, climb, cycle and bird watch. At night, it is also one of the best spots in the UK for stargazing with the naked eye, as it's the first Dark Sky Park in the UK and one of only two in Europe! Among pursuits enjoyed on the Park and Loch Ken are fishing, sailing, water skiing and walking.
The Galloway Activity Centre on the banks of Loch Ken is 5 miles from our park. It offers a wide range of outdoor activities on and off the water, to choose from sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, kayaking, canoeing, outdoor laser quest, archery, mountain biking, orienteering, climbing/abseiling and more.
