Barefoot Yurts, Rye, East Sussex

Barefoot Yurts, Rye, East Sussex

Barefoot Yurts offer stunning glamping accommodation in Rye, East Sussex. Our traditional Mongolian yurt and gorgeous safari tent are set in a peaceful location and enjoy spectacular views over the Brede Valley. Whether it is a family holiday or the ultimate romantic break you can come and enjoy the many local pleasures, fabulous beaches with plenty of water sports, historic castles and famous gardens.

Yurts: Our traditional Mongolian yurt can accommodate a family, couples looking for a unique romantic getaway, or a small group of friends.

The bedroom yurt is fully furnished with a very comfortable hand made oak bed, all sheets and towels etc included. We also provide a plentiful supply of wood for the burner. It is also spacious enough to have extra single beds if required or a travel cot. Children are welcome in the yurt.

Our larger sitting room yurt can be used as a place to relax, get cosy by the wood burner, play games or accommodate another couple. The sofa turns into a large comfortable double bed.

The kitchen and shower room are set apart with a covered deck, a lovely place to sit and watch our resident barn owl doing his evening hunting. It has electricity and all the equipment you will need including an oven, hob, barbeque, fridge and hot water.

Safari Tent: Our magical off-grid safari tent is perfect for a romantic break in a stunning location. The tent is nestled away in an idyllic setting, offering glorious views over the Brede Valley. This secluded eco-lodge offers that touch of luxury, including a wonderful open plan living/kitchen/bedroom. The comfy double bedroom comes with sheets and blankets, whilst the sitting area has a large wood burner for those chilly days.

For home cooking, there is a gas gob and gas BBQ. The bathroom has hot water and there are 2 eco compost loos. Outside there is a delightful decking area with seating, offering a fabulous spot for a morning coffee whilst savouring the spectacular views.

At Barefoot Yurts we are great believers in recycling and leaving a small barefoot print, so we have tried to get the balance right by using solar lighting, recycled wood and installing a composting loo. We are very proud to say that 60% of this building has been built using recycled materials.

We are very lucky to live in an area with so much history and natural beauty and many activities for every age. Here you can enjoy days by the water or step back in time.
