Parc Carafanau’r Vanner Caravan & Camping Park, Llanelltyd, Dolgellau, Gwynedd

Parc Carafanau’r Vanner Caravan & Camping Park offers holiday accommodation within the foothills of Southern Snowdonia. It is situated amidst breathtaking scenery alongside the Mawddach River. Cader Idris rises majestically to the south whilst the valley opens from the north to form the wide estuary leading to the sea at Barmouth.

Forming part of a working hill farm surrounding a 12th-century Cistercian monastery, Cymer Abbey, the campsite caters for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, with electric hook-ups available. There are toilets, showers, razor points and hot water. Calor gas is sold on this touring site.

The camping site is open from 1st of April / Easter to the end of October.

Being ideally placed between mountain and sea, there is something for every taste within easy reach. The historic market town of Dolgellau is within 1½ miles while the sea is within 6 miles. For walkers, there are a number of very popular paths including the Precipice walk and the Panorama walk. The area is very popular for fishing with many well-stocked natural lakes in the immediate vicinity. A pony trekking centre is situated within 2 miles.

For the more energetic there is the climb up Cader Idris, which at over 890m provides views from the sea to the English border. There is also the mountain bike centre at Coed y Brenin, which includes the internationally acclaimed Red Bull and Karrimor trails and regularly plays host to national and international competitions - quiet lanes and tracks lead from campsite to centre.
