Mount Pleasant Eco Park near Porthtowan is set in 42 acres of organic farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This eco-friendly site near Truro in Cornwall is ideal for campers, tourers and glampers looking for somewhere tranquil and memorable to stay.
The site is a haven for people looking to get close to nature in a breathtaking setting. The campsite is nestled in a large field, with no set pitches and surrounded by empty fields. The wild camping area boasts stunning views down to the beach at Porthtowan and over to the Atlantic Sea.
If you don’t fancy loading the car up or putting up a tent, you can enjoy that added bit of luxury of staying in the glamping accommodation. They have two Shepherd's Huts to choose from. The Beacon Shepherd’s Hut (sleeps 5) and Small Woods Shepherd’s Hut (sleeps 3) have both been handcrafted and built here at the Eco Park by Pioneer Environmental Company. Both huts come with comfy beds, electric points and internal lighting. The large hut comes with a sofa which converts into single bunk beds and the smaller hut has a toasty wood burner to keep you warm in the chillier months.
They also have charming bell tents to stay in. They come with a double bed and for an additional fee can include a single mattress.
On the park, we have gas and solar-powered showers, a brand-new toilet & shower block and a washroom for pots & pans. There is also a freezer in the washroom.
The eco park has a lovely cafe which serves excellent vegetarian breakfast and lunches. You will also find a cob oven next to the fire pit, an under-cover atrium and outdoor amphitheatre.
