Acton Field Camping Site, Swanage, Dorset

Acton Field Camping is situated in Langton Matravers, which is a small village on the outskirts of Swanage in Dorset. Langton Matravers is a great base for exploring the beautiful Purbecks and Jurassic Coast and can be easily reached by guests. They are a short drive from the centre of Swanage where there are plenty of shops.

They have 100 touring and tent pitches in total. The campsite offers basic clean facilities - toilets, showers, washing-up sinks, two freezers for ice packs and there are also 2 chemical disposal points. There is an electric point in the ladies and a shaver socket in the gents and constant hot water.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the Jurassic coast and very near the South West Coastal Path. Dancing Ledge is only a mile walk from the site. Turn left at the Ledge and walkers can take the path to Swanage; a right turn along the coastal path leads to Winspit & turn right here to wander up through the valley to Worth Matravers and the famous Square and Compass pub. Stop for a beer or cider and a pasty or a pie and enjoy the wonderful views while sat outside. Take the footpath back to Langton Matravers and Acton Field.

Acton Field Campsite is ideal for camping, walking and cycling with many footpaths and bridle paths close by. It's also ideally placed if you're looking for Swanage festival camping. The beaches of Swanage and Studland are sandy and safe and are within easy reach. A bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the campsite and a regular bus service can transport you to Swanage, Wareham, Poole, Bournemouth, Weymouth and beyond. Wareham Train Station is on the main line to London, Waterloo.
