Balranald Hebridean Holidays, North Uist, Outer Hebrides
Balranald Hebridean Holidays is a small family-run business located in North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. The campsite provides excellent facilities for campers, touring caravans and motorhomes.
The campsite is located on the picturesque west coast of North Uist 16 miles from the ferry terminal at Lochmaddy, 17 miles from the ferry terminal at Berneray and 17 miles from Benbecula Airport.
The campsite offers the following:
30 touring pitches, 19 hard standing with electric hookups and 11 grass pitches with electric hook up.
10 x tent pitches.
Free Wi-Fi.
Chemical toilet.
Washing machine.
The site is located in the heart of the RSPB's Balranald Nature Reserve where you will find a huge variety of wading and farmland birds nesting on the flower-rich machair and croft land.
The site provides an ideal location to see and hear the elusive Corncrake. Other birds include Snipe, Oystercatcher, Lapwing, Turnstone, Ringed Plover, Redshank, Skylark, Arctic Tern, Little Tern and Corn Bunting.
Otters are also often seen in the freshwater lochs and along the rocky shores, while grey seals can be seen just off the coast. There are fantastic views of the Monach Isles and St Kilda.
