Ardnamurchan Campsite, Kilchoan, West Coast of Scotland
Ardnamurchan Campsite in Kilchoan, Highland, offers stunning facilities for tents, tourers and campervans. Our campsite on Argyll, Bute & The Islands is situated in a tranquil and beautiful location, making us perfect for an idyllic break away.
We are situated on the shoreline to the west of Kilchoan, toward the end of a very peaceful cul de sac. You can enjoy breathtaking sea views and far reaching views of Ben Hiant and across the Isle. The campsite has provision for 25 pitches, 9 of which are located just above the high water mark, down on the foreshore. You can awake to the waves gently filling the many rockpools. All the pitches have electric hook ups.
We also have a camping pod available which sleeps up to 3 people. Inside the porch is a cooking area, boot storage and hanging area. Lighting is from a 12 Volt battery powered by solar and wind. Mattresses are provided.
Our caravan sleeps up to 6 people and is in elevated position on the campsite. It comes with one double bed and a smaller bedroom with 2 single beds. The living room has a television with integral DVD. There is a small kitchen area equipped with, gas cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle and enough crockery and cooking utensils for six people. The bathroom is equipped with wash hand basin, toilet and shower.
Locally there is a great pub serving hot food and there is also an Indian food take away/delivery service. The area is a haven for wildlife, birdlife and marine life and all visitors leave with appreciation for the miles and miles of unspoilt wilderness, gentle coves and geological splendour. The village also has a shop and a Community Centre with local information, Cafe and a 3-D geology display of the Ardnamurchan Volcanic Ring Complex. The shop stocks food stuffs, some fresh fruit and vegetables newspapers, souvenirs, fuel and has a post office.
