The Shepherds Loft, Frodesley, Shropshire

The Shepherds Loft is a lovely glamping hut set on our working farm at Frodesley in Shropshire. We provide adults with a place where they can escape the hustle and bustle of modern-day living, ensuring you have a peaceful retreat where you can rest, relax and recuperate.

The hut is set within its own paddock and has room for an extra two guests to camp. A bathroom hut 'The Dip' is just a few short steps away, with a lovely gas-powered shower and a real toilet for that extra home comfort. The hut is off-grid but has solar-powered lighting and a power pack where you can charge your phone and power various electric items via a USB or three-pin plug.

A pull-out double bed can be folded back to make a relaxing seating area or pull the blackout blinds down and make the most of a lie-in.

With crockery and cutlery supplied for two, bedding and towels you will also find a kettle, pans and wood for the log burner.

Cook supper on the gas barbeque (which has a gas ring for the kettle/saucepans), which also has a roasting function and is covered by a wooden shelter just in case the weather is a bit inclement. Then sit around the Kadai fire bowl into the evening listening to the sheep and cows.

Fishing is available on-site and is a lovely way to relax during your stay. It is a half-acre pool stocked with carp of all sizes and can be exclusively yours whilst staying in the hut. Please do let us know if you would like private fishing when booking.

During your stay, you can do as much or as little as you choose. The hut is a retreat for those who want a break away from it all however we are close to a wealth of attractions and places of interest.

A circular walk around the footpaths of Frodesley and Acton Burnell can be done in a couple of hours, or if you are feeling a bit more of a hike, try the Lawley, Caer Caradoc or the Wrekin!. A bit further afield there is quad trekking, horse riding, and canoeing down the River Severn you can see the County in many different ways.

Our nearest local town, Church Stretton, is a mecca for walkers and is right at the foot of the beautiful Long Mynd. When you are right on the top you have amazing views of the local area as well as a chance to get up close to the wild ponies and sheep who help to shape the landscape. If you need a bit of hustle and bustle the independent shops in the market town of Ludlow isn't far away where you can try out a variety of fantastic local foods.
