North Coast Touring Park, Melvich, Sutherland, The Highlands

The North Coast Touring Park is situated in the small coastal village of Melvich which is 17 miles west of Thurso. Situated in the county of Sutherland, it is an excellent base for those wishing to explore the Scottish Highlands.

The caravan park has a variety of pitches. There are also glamping pods available which can sleep up to 7 people.

The touring park includes a football field and entertainment including a monthly quiz and karaoke.

The site is located next to the inn which is open during normal licensing hours with extended times for Friday evenings (1am) and Saturday evenings (12 midnight). A varied menu is supplied from bacon rolls to steak. Occasionally local fresh brown trout is on the specials board.

Melvich is perfect for the quiet getaway holiday. The sandy beach is just a ten-minute walk away and is a favourite venue for surfing. Situated in the village is the local shop and post office. If you are a keen fisherman then try the local lochs (permits can be arranged). The area is an ideal base for touring the North Coast of Scotland. Orkney is just a short ferry ride away. For the golfer, there is Reay Golf Course which is five miles away. Birdwatchers can visit the Forsinard RSPB Bird Sanctuary.
