The Old Barn Retreat is a peaceful adults-only touring caravan site located just outside the traditional village of Markby, set between the eastern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and the sandy beaches of Sutton-on-Sea. Surrounded by open countryside and wide skies, the site offers a quiet and relaxing setting for guests who want to enjoy the outdoors while remaining within easy reach of the coast and nearby market towns.

The site provides spacious grass pitches, with 11 pitches offering 16-amp electric hook-ups. Touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans are all welcome. Guests have access to a range of convenient amenities including free Wi-Fi, a large and well-maintained facilities block with toilets and showers, a washing-up area and a chemical waste disposal point.

A central decking area with picnic tables offers a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the surroundings, while ornamental features such as a fish pond add to the tranquil atmosphere. The site is secure, with CCTV and a gated entrance barrier, ensuring a safe and private environment for visitors.

During the summer season, guests can enjoy the convenience of a weekly fish and chip van that visits the site, providing a traditional seaside treat without needing to leave the grounds. Pizza pop-up nights are also held throughout the year and ice cream vans visit at weekends during the high season. A local bus stop close to the site also makes it easy to travel around the area, and grocery deliveries can be arranged to the site.

The Old Barn Retreat also offers two holiday cottages. Further details can be found on the website.

There is plenty to see and do nearby, from enjoying locally produced food and traditional fish and chips to taking relaxing walks along the promenade at Sutton-on-Sea. The retreat is also ideally placed for exploring the seaside towns of Mablethorpe and Skegness, while the historic market towns of Alford, Louth and Horncastle offer traditional markets, antique shops and charming streets set within the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds countryside.
