Beirhope Camping in Hownam offers eco-friendly camping in a gorgeous area of the Scottish Borders. Based near Kelso in stunning scenery, we are the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
We have 8 grass camping pitches to choose from, offering something for everyone. Two of the super pitches have a private eco loo and 5 standard pitches share an eco-loo. Onsite, we have our friendly alpacas to meet. We offer a range of activities, including treks, strolls and meet and greets, including feeding. We also offer a paca picnic and ice cream in our picnic area. All the activities are for an additional fee.
Phil's Patch is near our alpacas and offers views of the Cheviot Hills. Poppy's Pitch is next to the alpaca paddocks and Woodland Wonder is based in a private woodland pitch. Stargazer's Dream is great for enjoying some of the best darkest skies in the UK and includes an outdoor patio dining area, table and chairs, eco loo and outdoor kitchen area.
We are in the perfect location for enjoying the dark skies. You can also explore the area, home to lots of walking and cycling routes. Visit Melrose Abbey or Floors Castle. Children will love Harestanes Adventure Playpark. Attractions to visit include:
