The Majestic Bus, Hay-on-Wye, Powys
The Majestic Bus is a lovingly converted Bedford Panorama Bus. It is in a beautiful part of Powys, located at the edge of the Radnorshire Hills in Hay-on-Wye. For those who are looking for a relaxing bolthole away from the stresses of modern-day living, then The Majestic Bus is perfect for you!
The bus is a truly unique glamping experience. It is in a garden of flowers near Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. It is perfect for a family or group of 8 who want to stay together. There is space to sleep 4 people inside and 4 camping outside.
Outside is a decked area on two levels, hot tub and a fire-pit on which you can cook in the open air and two-level platforms. These can act as tent-pitch areas, able to accommodate up to a further four guests if your party is larger or which could be used simply as places to relax, take in the view or enjoy a picnic.
A few metres away lies a purpose-built wooden bathhouse, containing a flush toilet and a luxurious roll top bath with shower above. A second wood burner is installed for those chillier nights and the room comes complete with tea light candles for the ultimate romantic bath experience.
The surrounding area is a haven for wildlife. There are wild and open hills which contrast with wooded valleys and green pastureland. A myriad of footpaths and quiet country lanes link everything together, so you will not be short of places to explore during your stay. The well-trodden Offas Dyke footpath lies just a few fields away from my door and the sites of ancient encampments dot the surrounding hilltops.
