Perfectly positioned at the foot of Barton Fell, it is an ideal base for mountain biking, walking, sailing, fishing, and pony trekking.

The pretty village of Pooley Bridge is one mile from the campsite and can be easily reached by road or the lakeshore footpath. Here you will find local shops and cafes as well as a few inns serving excellent bar food and traditional real ale.

The site shop stocks Bread, milk, groceries etc. Gas exchange, BBQ fuel, camping spares. sweets, toys. Open 8.30am - 5.30pm peak times.

We have boats available to hire onsite.

We allow mainly tents but we do allow some motor homes so please enquire before arriving with a motorhome.

Established in 1979 the camping park is situated in the grounds of an 18th Century Stable complex close to the forest edge. Located off the road, surrounded by old stonewalls it is not overlooked affording our guests with wonderful views of the surrounding lush country valley.

e offer 50 pitches in total, 27 hardstands and 23 grass pitches. The subtle landscaping of the camping park blends with the surrounding natural environment where clusters of trees and shrubs divide small groups of pitches. We have 6 amp electric points for most hardstands and a limited number of tent pitches. A simple south facing layout offers visitors wonderful views of the Galtee Mountains, Irelands largest inland mountain range. The woods are just outside our door perfect for dog walking.

e accept tents, caravans and motorhomes (up to 8m in length). Our camping park is strictly touring there are no mobile homes in the park. Our central location means that we offer the perfect touring base for touring the whole of the South of Ireland.

Five times lighter than a conventional metal peg but with ten times better grip, equally suitable for hard, stoney ground by using the height-adjustable hook.

The next generation of screw-in-pegs are 20% thicker, 1.8cm longer and 30% stronger than our previous pegs. They also have a newly designed more versatile stronger clip that increases the holding power.

To avoid confusion and to differentiate from the old Wurmi pegs we have called them PeggyPegs.

Situated equidistant from the beautiful beaches of Carbis Bay and St Ives, approximately 2 miles away. Balnoon is a traditional camp site and has been established for over 50 years and kept in the same family.

St Ives is but 2 miles distant which is accessible by road or by a beautiful walk through the countryside. Penzance is 6 miles away where day trips to The Isles of Scilly can be taken on the Scillonian III passenger ferry and off-shore at Penzance is the famous St Michael’s Mount.

Located at St Ives is the Tate of the West Art Gallery, whilst the contemporary Newlyn Art Gallery and the Penzance Museum and Art Gallery, which houses the largest collection of Newlyn School paintings, are but a few minutes by car. The award winning Eden project, as seen on Television near St. Austell is well worth a visit.

e can accommodate up to 37 units of either caravans, tents or even motorhomes up to 50ft long. The field reserved for pitches has open farmland on three sides, and the location and utilities have been approved by the Caravan Club. We also welcome Rallies, please contact us for more information.

We have 37 pitches, all of which have electric hook-ups available. There is a brand new Shower and Toilet facility on site including Disabled and Laundrette facilities.

A fully stocked Carp Fishing Lake is located at the rear of the Campsite and is available on a Day Ticket or Seasonal Ticket, see fishing for more information.

Due to the large grassed area available, and the rough ground adjacent, our site is ideal for those with dogs. There is also room for ball games etc.. as the field is much larger than required for the pitches.

For those who enjoy fishing the famous fishing spot of Sharkham Point is a short walk from the top of the beach. However, day fishing trips are also available from Brixham Harbour.
