Coedhirion Farm, Llanddorog, Carmarthenshire
Coedhirion Farm offers a welcoming campsite for touring caravans and tents at reasonable rates, ideally located just off the A48 dual carriageway, approximately six miles from the market town of Carmarthen. From this convenient setting, guests can easily explore a wide range of nearby attractions, including the stunning Gower Peninsula, Carmarthen Bay, the historic castles of the Towy Valley and the breathtaking Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
As a working farm, Coedhirion also provides a peaceful retreat, perfect for relaxing and unwinding in unspoilt surroundings. The site is set amongst beautiful woodland filled with wildflowers, grasses and centuries-old trees, creating a tranquil atmosphere for guests to enjoy. The small caravan park and campsite offers an ideal escape to switch off and recharge, while still providing essential amenities such as water taps, electric hook-ups and a chemical disposal point. A modern shower and toilet block includes three family wet rooms, with additional facilities for food preparation, laundry, washing up and baby changing being added.
The site is continually being enhanced and already features flat hard-standing pitches, a grassy play area for ball games and a charming fenced duck pond. A woodland path and a secluded picnic area are also in development, offering even more opportunities to enjoy the natural surroundings. At Coedhirion, the focus remains firmly on peace and quiet.
Guests can take a break from cooking by visiting the nearby Post Office, which serves a delicious Welsh breakfast. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, although they must be kept on a lead at all times. Visitors are also invited to meet the farm’s friendly animals.
A nearby footpath provides safe access to the historic village of Llanddarog, where there are excellent places to eat. Llanddarog is perfectly positioned for exploring a variety of attractions, offering something for every visitor. Just a short drive away is the historic market town of Carmarthen, known for its Roman heritage, independent shops and the impressive Carmarthen Castle. History enthusiasts can also visit the nearby National Botanic Garden of Wales, home to the world’s largest single-span glasshouse and beautifully landscaped gardens.
For scenic countryside and walking opportunities, the Towy Valley is right on the doorstep, dotted with charming villages and historic sites such as Paxton’s Tower and Dinefwr Park, where visitors can explore a nature reserve and see the famous White Park cattle.
