Gear Farm: A Tranquil, Family-Friendly Retreat in the Heart of Cornwall
Gear Farm is a peaceful, family-run camping and caravanning site located in the charming village of St Martin, near Helston in Cornwall. Designed with families in mind, the site offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with generously spaced pitches that are set 10 metres apart to ensure guests enjoy plenty of privacy.
Set across 1.5 acres of level, mown grass, the campsite features 15 well-maintained pitches suitable for tents, tourers, and motorhomes. Many of the pitches enjoy scenic views overlooking the nearby Helford River, adding to the site’s natural appeal.
Guests benefit from a recently built and well-equipped shower block, which includes three hot showers, three toilets, a convenient washing-up area, and access to two fridge/freezers for shared use.
The local area offers a wealth of attractions and activities. Just a pleasant one-mile walk along the creeks of the Helford River leads to the nearest pub, the Ship Inn at Mawgan. Visitors can also hire boats at nearby St Anthony and Helford to explore the tranquil waters of Frenchman’s Creek and the surrounding river landscape.
Gear Farm is ideally positioned for exploring Cornwall’s picturesque coastline, with all nearby beaches and traditional fishing ports located within approximately six miles. On rainy days, families can enjoy indoor attractions such as the Ships and Castles swimming pool in Falmouth, Paradise Park in Hayle, and the popular Flambards Theme Park in Helston.
