Llech Camping & Touring Site – A Family-Friendly Retreat in the Heart of Snowdonia

Llech Camping & Touring Site, located in the picturesque hamlet of Llechollwyn near Ynys in Gwynedd, is a welcoming, family-friendly destination set amidst the awe-inspiring landscape of Snowdonia. With breathtaking views of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and the enchanting village of Portmeirion, this scenic site offers a rustic charm and a tranquil escape in the heart of nature.

Pitches & Accommodation
Set against a backdrop of trees and surrounded by spectacular scenery, the site offers grass pitches suitable for tents, motorhomes, caravans, and campervans. Pitches stretch up the bank to the main field, many offering lovely views. Guests can choose between electric and non-electric pitches, and fire pit hire is also available—perfect for a cosy evening of stargazing and marshmallow toasting.

In addition to traditional camping, visitors can enjoy a stay in the on-site static caravan, located next to the farmhouse. This comfortable caravan accommodates up to four guests in one double and two single beds. A shared bathroom, well-equipped kitchen (featuring a cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, and sink), and an open-plan dining and living area with a TV, DVD player, and gas fire offer a homely and relaxing atmosphere.

For those without camping gear, Bella the Bell Tent provides a charming alternative. Designed for two guests, the bell tent includes a double bed, electricity, and offers a minimum two-night stay. It boasts far-reaching views of the Dwyryd Estuary and Portmeirion, with the majestic sight of Yr Wyddfa greeting guests each morning.

On-Site Facilities
Llech Camping & Touring Site offers a range of practical amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. These include two shower rooms with toilets, two additional toilets, a family shower room, and a dishwashing area with hot and cold water. A freezer is also available for guest use. The on-site reception shop stocks ice cream, drinks, and small treats to enhance the camping experience.

Exploring the Local Area
Perfectly located for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers, the site is positioned right on the Dwyryd Estuary and close to the Rhinog Mountains, Harlech, and Porthmadog. A scenic 30-minute walk along the coastal path leads to the nearest pub, while the surrounding area is ideal for hiking, walking, watersports, and wildlife watching.

The unique and colourful village of Portmeirion is just a 10-minute drive away, offering a quirky Italian-themed day out. Other nearby attractions include the Ffestiniog Railway, which winds through dramatic scenery, and the Llanfair Slate Mines, where visitors can explore the area’s rich industrial heritage.

Whether pitching a tent, hiring a bell tent, or settling into the static caravan, guests at Llech Camping & Touring Site can enjoy a peaceful, scenic, and unforgettable stay in one of Wales’ most beautiful regions.
