Parc Pen Y Bryn is a peaceful, rural campsite in North Wales, set not far from the boundary of Snowdonia National Park and right beside one of the region’s hidden gems, the Clocaenog Forest. This vast conifer woodland stretches across one hundred square kilometres and feels like a Welsh Narnia, with its towering trees, rolling heather moorland, winding trails, secret paths, cascading waterfalls and well-marked tracks ideal for family cycling or horse riding.
The campsite itself sits in a secluded and tranquil spot, surrounded by views of open countryside where grassy fields meet the sight of wind turbines turning slowly in the distance. With only a small number of hard-standing touring pitches spread out across a generous space, the atmosphere never feels crowded. Families, couples and even dogs can enjoy the freedom of roaming the grounds, while the neat hardstanding pitches ensure campervans and motorhomes of all kinds can settle in with ease.
Parc Pen Y Bryn is in an excellent location for exploring North Wales. The nearby Llyn Brenig reservoir offers a wide range of water-based adventures, including sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing, along with mountain biking and scenic walking trails. A short drive brings you to Betws-y-Coed, a pretty village known as a gateway to Snowdonia, where you can begin countless hikes or enjoy the local attractions. Equally close are the bustling town of Ruthin, with its deep history, independent shops, vibrant arts scene and fantastic dining and the town of Corwen, situated in the beautiful Dee Valley, an ideal place from which to explore more of the surrounding countryside.
