Eco Camping
Eco Camping is located at the Sustainability Centre in East Meon, near Petersfield in Hampshire. This small, quiet, family-friendly campsite provides an ideal base for exploring the South Downs National Park, along with Hampshire’s historic towns and villages, traditional pubs and restaurants. The coast and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard are also within easy reach. The campsite’s Things To Do page highlights a wide range of day trips, all within walking or driving distance.
The campsite is well suited to holidays or overnight stays for individuals, families, cyclists, walkers, history and literary enthusiasts, and small groups. It is unique in offering off-grid, car-free camping bays, encouraging guests to truly immerse themselves in the natural environment, away from noise and light pollution. The focus is on simple, peaceful stays surrounded by nature.
Set within a tranquil open space and surrounded by 55 acres of beautiful woodland, the campsite offers six pitches on the main campsite and three secluded camping bays, each accommodating up to four people.
Stay in a Yurt
For a truly special off-grid escape, guests can stay in one of the site’s rustic yurts. Each yurt offers a cosy, nature-immersed experience, complete with a log-burning fire. The yurts sleep between one and four people and are available to book from April to October. Due to their popularity, early booking is recommended, particularly for weekends, which have a two-night minimum stay.
There are two large yurts sleeping up to four people and one smaller yurt designed for two. The larger yurts include a double bed and two single beds, while all yurts are fully furnished with bedding, rugs, chairs, and a wood-burning stove with logs provided.
Facilities
All camping pitches and yurts are equipped with outdoor fire bowls. Guests have access to a solar-powered shower block with three showers housed in a straw bale building, along with three compost toilets and a covered washing-up area. A wood-fired pizza oven is available for campers to use, and guests are welcome to bring their own camping stoves.
The on-site Beech Café serves a range of delicious vegetarian and vegan breakfasts, lunches, and homemade cakes.
