Grouse Hill Caravan and Camping Park is set within the North York Moors National Park and proudly holds an AA 4 Star Gold rating. The park is located along the A171 Whitby to Scarborough road, directly behind the Flask Inn, and is open from March through to October.
The camping and caravan park enjoys a south-facing position overlooking a wooded valley and the rolling, heather-covered moorland, forming a natural amphitheatre locally known as “Paradise”. Within the park, guests can also enjoy a man-made lake and a woodland walk, adding to the peaceful countryside setting.
A wide range of facilities is available on site, including four family washrooms, 10-amp electric hook-ups and water points, hardstanding pitches and modern, well-maintained toilet and shower blocks. Additional amenities include free hot water, showers and power points, a fully equipped laundry room with washing machines, dryer, soap dispenser, iron and ironing board, gas exchange for Calor and Camping Gaz, a well-stocked shop, hot and cold drinks machine, ice pack freezing facilities and a children’s adventure play area.
The Swift Moselle Static Caravan is positioned at one of the park’s best vantage points, offering outstanding 180-degree panoramic views across the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Fully equipped for family holidays, the caravan features double doors opening onto a spacious decking area with a wooden picnic bench, allowing guests to make the most of the superb views.
Grouse Hill also offers Big Chief Wigwams, each supplied with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, heater, picnic bench, seating and a bed with mattress. The central sleeping platform can be easily dismantled, creating a spacious, light and versatile interior for daytime use. Guests need to provide all other camping equipment. The Wigwams are situated on the peaceful, south-facing edge of the North Yorkshire Moors and enjoy fantastic views of rolling hills and moorland, with 23 acres of woodland to explore as a backdrop.
In addition, a luxury holiday cottage is available and has been recently refurbished in a contemporary country style. It features rustic solid oak furniture, elegant linens and fabrics, a king-size bed, exposed beams, open ceilings and stone flooring with underfloor heating, creating a comfortable and stylish retreat.
Guests are welcomed warmly on arrival at the reception area, where staff are on hand to answer any questions about the site. An extensive information guide is also available, providing details of local attractions, events and nearby places to eat and drink.
