Port Ban Holiday Park, Kilberry, Tarbert, Argyll
Port Ban is a peaceful haven for those seeking to truly get away from it all. The outstanding natural beauty of the area, along with its rich diversity of wildflowers and wildlife, continues to delight both first-time and returning visitors. The park boasts around half a mile of completely unspoilt coastline, featuring quiet sandy beaches, with safe bathing areas within easy walking distance. Its tranquil atmosphere allows parents to relax while children enjoy the freedom and open space that Port Ban provides.
On-Site Facilities & Activities
A wide range of sports and leisure facilities is available on site, including a large play area suitable for football and other sports, a tennis court, a games hall with table tennis and pool, a putting green, and mountain bikes available for hire. During the busier months, organised entertainment such as ceilidhs, barbecues and children’s activities adds to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Interdenominational church services are held on site, with dedicated programmes for teenagers and children during July and August.
Additional on-site facilities include a well-stocked shop selling groceries, crafts, toys and fishing tackle, a seasonal coffee bar offering home baking and light meals, a fish and chip takeaway, a toilet block with hot showers, and a launderette.
The park also offers two camping pods, each accommodating two adults and two children, available by enquiry.
Location
Situated on the beautiful and secluded coastal road (B8024) between Tarbert and Lochgilphead, Port Ban enjoys what is considered one of the most spectacular settings on the West Coast of Scotland. Located on the Knapdale and Kintyre peninsula, the area is often bypassed by tourists heading north towards Oban, helping to preserve its peaceful charm. Unusually for a caravan park, the caravans are widely spaced, each offering panoramic views across the sea towards the islands of Jura and Islay, creating a truly memorable coastal escape.
