Eden Valley Glamping offers unique glamping accommodation in the picturesque village of Armathwaite, near Carlisle. Set in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley, the site is surrounded by stunning countryside, with a wide range of scenic walking and cycling routes right on the doorstep.
Guests can choose from two characterful railway carriages and three luxury glamping pods, all set within a peaceful rural location. Glamping Pods
Croglin and Melmerby each sleep up to four guests and feature a king-size double bed, a double sofa bed, a private bathroom, and a table with chairs. Kitchen facilities include a fridge with freezer compartment, Belfast sink, single-ring induction hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. Outside, there are two cushioned outdoor chairs and a BBQ/firepit – perfect for enjoying a morning coffee as the sun rises.
Cross Fell offers the same excellent facilities and sleeps up to five guests, with a bunk bed, a freestanding single fold-out chair bed and a double sofa bed.
Railway Carriages
Henrietta is a charming timber-built replica railway carriage, beautifully designed to reflect the character of traditional railway travel. With its arched roof, classic empire green finish and even a working communication cord, it captures authentic railway charm. Styled with subtle Art Deco touches, the carriage includes a cosy lounge and dining area with a well-equipped kitchenette, woodburning stove and central heating. The bathroom features a double-ended bath with shower attachment, and the comfortable double bedroom offers storage with linens provided. Outside, guests can unwind in a private fenced seating area with a firepit and barbecue overlooking the sheep field, or relax on the platform while admiring the stunning valley views.
Clarabel is inspired by a traditional brake van and retains distinctive features such as the oriel window once used by guards to observe the train. Styled with an industrial theme that reflects its heritage while ensuring modern comfort, the carriage offers a cosy lounge with a well-equipped kitchenette, woodburning stove and Bluetooth radio. There is a comfortable double bedroom with valley views and a charming window seat, along with a bathroom featuring a double-ended bath and shower. Outside, guests can enjoy a private fenced seating area with a firepit and barbecue overlooking the sheep field and the beautiful Eden Valley countryside.
Camp Kitchen & Other Facilities
All guests have access to the spacious camp kitchen, which features an open-plan kitchen, diner and lounge, along with a shower/WC with disabled access. The well-insulated building includes a wood-burning stove and an integral potato oven. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the lounge provides a selection of indoor and outdoor games, including skittles and boules.
Outside, there is a tropical hangout area complete with a freestanding hammock suitable for up to three people. Guests can also make use of a wood-fired pizza oven and a communal fire pit area. A sauna suitable for up to six people is available for private hire upon request.
Fishing is available in the nearby river, though a valid licence is required.
