Baconsthorpe Meadows offers traditional camping on a working farm just three miles from Holt and fifteen minutes from the North Norfolk coast.

Set within a five-acre campsite with 63 pitches for tents (no caravans permitted), guests have the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful stay in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside. The site is located just three miles from Holt and around 15 minutes from Sheringham and the seaside. As a traditional campsite, Baconsthorpe Meadows operates a strict “No Noise after 10pm” policy to ensure a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere.

Camping Pods

The six camping pods provide a cosy and convenient alternative to tent camping, each sleeping two people. Guests can simply bring their bedding and enjoy a comfortable stay surrounded by countryside. Three pods are located in the orchard and three on the main campsite, offering a choice of settings. Pod guests have access to all communal facilities, including showers, toilets, washing-up sinks, freezers, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. One of the pods is dog-friendly.

The site is unable to accommodate single-sex all-adult groups.

Exploring the Area

A bridle path runs alongside the campsite, and the site sits on the Rebellion Way Cycle Route, making it ideal for walkers and cyclists. At the other end of the village lies Baconsthorpe Castle, a ruined castle with a moat that provides a wonderful setting for exploring, picnics and family adventures.

The nearby town of Holt is a beautiful Georgian market town filled with antique shops, boutiques, galleries and coffee shops.
