Balranald Hebridean Holidays is a small, family-run business based in North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. The site offers excellent facilities for campers, touring caravans, and motorhomes, with a focus on providing high-quality services at a reasonable price. Guests are welcomed with warm island hospitality, making it an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.

Situated on the picturesque west coast of North Uist, the site is 16 miles from the ferry terminal at Lochmaddy, 17 miles from the ferry terminal at Berneray, and 17 miles from Benbecula Airport.

The campsite provides 36 pitches in total:

19 hard standing with electric hook-up

11 grass pitches with electric hook-up

6 grass pitches without electric hook-up

Facilities include free Wi-Fi, chemical toilet emptying, and laundry services with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Two modern amenities blocks have been recently built, offering:

Toilets and wash hand basins

Showers

Washing and dishwashing areas

Laundry and drying room

For disabled visitors, private facilities with full wheelchair access are available, including a dedicated shower.

Additional services include an onsite office stocking groceries, small gifts, postcards, and stamps. In summer (April to September), the Dunes Cabin food trailer serves takeaway meals, while the Dunes Larder farm shop with 24/7 self-service vending machines is open year-round.

The campsite is located in the heart of the RSPB Balranald Nature Reserve, renowned for its flower-rich machair and croft land where wading and farmland birds nest. Visitors may hear the elusive Corncrake and spot species such as Snipe, Oystercatcher, Lapwing, Turnstone, Ringed Plover, Redshank, Skylark, Arctic Tern, Little Tern, and Corn Bunting.

Wildlife is abundant in the area, with otters often seen around freshwater lochs and rocky shores, while grey seals can be spotted off the coast. The site also offers breathtaking views of the Monach Isles and St Kilda.
