Minnows Touring Caravan Park – A Scenic Retreat in Mid Devon
Located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Sampford Peverell near Tiverton in Devon, Minnows Touring Caravan Park offers a peaceful base from which to explore the rural charm of Mid Devon and the serene beauty of the Grand Western Canal—one of Devon’s best-kept secrets.
Set within five and a half acres of landscaped grounds, the park features 59 all-weather pitches positioned alongside the towpath of the tranquil canal. Each pitch is equipped with a 16-amp electric hook-up, with hard-standing options available for caravans and motorhomes. In addition, 14 pitches are fully serviced, providing guests with fresh water connections and grey water drainage. Caravan storage is also available on-site.
Guests benefit from modern, well-maintained toilet and shower facilities, which include full disabled access. Additional amenities include a launderette, washing-up area, and a dedicated space for vegetable preparation. For those looking to enjoy the water, the park offers its own landing stage for canoes and trailered boats, with a nearby slipway for boat launching. Fishing and boating permits can be conveniently obtained at reception.
Beyond the park, visitors can explore a wealth of nearby attractions by car. Within a short drive are the natural landscapes of Exmoor and the Blackdown Hills, the historic city of Exeter, the coastal charm of Topsham, and the market towns of Tiverton and Honiton. Cultural excursions include visits to nearby National Trust properties such as Knightshayes Court and Killerton House.
Even the beaches of North and South Devon are within an hour’s reach, offering the perfect blend of countryside and coast. After a day of exploring, guests can enjoy a relaxing stroll along the towpath to one of the local pubs in the village, where a warm meal and a pint of local ale await.
