Constable Park, River’s End, Brantham, Suffolk

Constable Park at River’s End in Brantham offers a unique countryside retreat with glamping accommodation, kayaking and paddleboard hire, and a welcoming café with access to the River Stour. Set in a scenic location overlooking Dedham Vale and the nearby RSPB nature reserve, the park provides a wonderful base for a relaxing holiday in Suffolk. Guests can enjoy time on the water with paddleboard and kayak hire, including guided tours during the summer months, or unwind in the Wellness Studio which features a sauna and hot tub available to book.

A variety of glamping accommodation is available across the park. The Touareg Tents sleep four or five guests and are perfect for families or small groups, featuring a proper double bed, inflatable airbeds, a cosy wood-burning stove and a covered BBQ area, along with outdoor decking chairs and a fire pit. The charming Bird Hide offers fantastic views of the River Stour and can accommodate up to five guests, with electricity provided but guests bringing their own bedding. There are also two styles of Bell Tents: 5m tents located by the fire pit circle and 6m tents in a peaceful riverside setting. Each includes a double bed with additional airbeds for children, electric blankets, deckchairs and shared cooking facilities including a charcoal BBQ and gas burner hob.

For those looking for a little more comfort, Goose Cabin and Moorhen Cabin are two cosy upcycled cabins, each sleeping four guests. These cabins include an en-suite bathroom, lounge area and kitchenette with a two-burner gas hob, fridge and crockery. Each features a double bed and a pair of quirky 4ft-wide end-access bunk pods, with the lower bunk large enough for two small children. Outside, guests can enjoy a BBQ for relaxed al fresco dining. Non-electric camping pitches are also available for those travelling with their own tents.

The park is also home to the Coffee House, a uniquely designed building overlooking the river that serves brunch, lunch, speciality coffee and delicious homemade cakes. From the site, guests can easily explore the surrounding countryside with scenic walking and cycling routes, or visit nearby Manningtree with its range of pubs, restaurants and bars. Popular attractions within reach include Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, Abbey Gardens, Kentwell Hall and National Trust – Dunwich Heath and Beach.
