Fishery Creek Touring Park, Hayling Island, Hampshire

Fishery Creek Touring Park offers a peaceful coastal escape on Hayling Island in Hampshire, positioned beside a tidal creek that flows directly into the scenic Langstone and Chichester Harbours. Set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the park enjoys a calm, waterside atmosphere ideal for relaxation or outdoor exploration.

Guests can savour great food and friendly service at The Galleon Bistro, while The SUP Hut provides everything needed for paddleboarding, including equipment hire, sales and expert tuition. The park’s private tidal slipway opens the door to a wide range of water-based activities, making it a popular spot for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, launching small boats and even trying crabbing or fishing for bass. Numerous scenic walks begin directly from the park, and Hayling Island’s award-winning Blue Flag beach is only a short walk away.

The park features a mix of well-drained grassland and shingle pitches in various sizes. Prime pitches enjoy direct views over the waterfront – overlooking the tidal creek or the neighbouring lake – creating a truly immersive waterside camping experience. Plus pitches are set just one row behind the creek front, while standard pitches are centrally located. Whether guests arrive with a small tent or a 10-metre caravan, there is a pitch to suit every type of camper.

Most pitches offer electric hook-up, and multiple water points and motorhome service points are located throughout the park for convenience. Pitches are individually spaced with post-and-rope boundaries to maintain an open, uncluttered layout. Tarmac, grass or shingle access roads lead to all pitches and to the private slipway.

Guests can make full use of the tidal creek for paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing and small seacraft activities. Onsite facilities include a restaurant, two motorhome service points, numerous water points, grey-waste and chemical-disposal areas, electric hook-up pitches and free Wi-Fi. Two generous washing-up areas feature sinks and hot water, and accessible toilet and shower facilities offer continuous hot water and heated floors. A laundry room provides washers, a dryer and ironing boards. Younger visitors can enjoy a large play area with climbing frames, and an adjacent grassy space is ideal for picnics and games. A small shop in reception sells everyday essentials.

The park has received the Gold David Bellamy Award, recognising its commitment to reducing environmental impact and creating a wildlife-friendly setting. Its unique location supports diverse biodiversity, which is carefully protected so future generations can enjoy it. Wildlife areas are scattered throughout the grounds for guests to explore.

Hayling Island itself is a distinctive part of the South East Coast of England. Connected to the mainland by a road bridge, it often feels like entering a different world as you cross the water. The island enjoys slightly warmer weather than nearby inland areas, earning it the nickname “Hampshire’s Sunshine Island.” Its flat landscape makes it an excellent destination for outdoor holidays in a mild and pleasant climate.

Fishery Creek Touring Park is open from 1st March to 31st October.
