Ashe Farm Caravan & Camping Park, Thornfalcon, Taunton, Somerset
Willowbank, Willowbrook, and Field View are the only holiday caravans on a picturesque working farm, offering a peaceful countryside retreat. Two of the caravans are located near the 16th-century farmhouse, overlooking a tranquil pond, while the third enjoys stunning views across the cornfields.
Two of the caravans accommodate up to six guests, while the third sleeps four. Each is fully equipped with essential amenities, including hot water, a shower, toilet, fridge, gas cooker, heater, and TV. Gas is supplied, while electricity is operated via a £1 coin meter. Duvets and pillows are provided, though guests are asked to bring their own bed linen and towels. Bookings are available on a weekly basis, from Saturday to Saturday.
Ashe Farm Touring Park, situated on the same farm, features a dedicated play area for children. Two golf courses are located nearby, and guests can enjoy a waymarked walk around the farm, offering magnificent views of the surrounding hills and vale.
For dining options, The Farmers Arms, a popular inn in West Hatch, just two miles away, serves excellent food. Additionally, the nearby village of Stoke St Mary boasts several charming pubs offering traditional hospitality.
The farm is just a short drive from the Quantock Hills, a striking ridge of rolling moorland and woodland that extends from Taunton to the Bristol Channel coast near Watchet. As Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Quantocks provide an unspoiled habitat for wildlife, including red deer and birds of prey. Picturesque villages such as Crowcombe, Bicknoller, and Holford, which has literary connections to Wordsworth, Shelley, and Coleridge, are scattered throughout the region.
For further exploration, the Brendon Hills, forming the eastern boundary of Exmoor, are just a 30-minute drive from Taunton. These hills are rich in waymarked walking trails that provide breathtaking views across the Channel to Wales. Additionally, Currymoor, a 15-minute drive away, serves as a fantastic starting point for discovering the unique landscape of the Somerset Levels.
With its beautiful setting and easy access to some of Somerset’s most scenic attractions, the holiday caravans at Ashe Farm provide an idyllic countryside escape.
