Nestled in a serene rural setting, the campsite boasts panoramic views of the Peak District and stunning western sunsets, creating the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway.
Campers enjoy a flexible setup with no fixed pitches, as fields are allocated based on livestock grazing and haymaking. Without electricity hook-ups, guests can fully embrace the simplicity of rural life, accompanied by the natural sounds of the countryside. While there are no hot showers, amenities include mains drinking water from bright blue pipes in the fields, as well as eco-friendly compost toilets and long-drop facilities.
Campfires are encouraged, provided they do not damage the ground. Fire pans, braziers, or BBQs are required, and handmade fire pans are available free of charge. Large log bags can be purchased for £5, or campers may bring their own wood (nail-free). Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement but must be closely controlled to protect the free-range livestock, including lambs and poultry. Groups are also accommodated and can pitch together in designated areas with a single group booking made by a leader. A mobile sauna with a plunge pool is available for hire, adding a unique touch to the experience.
For those seeking a more luxurious stay, the farm offers two eco-yurts, each thoughtfully furnished for comfort and charm. These yurts feature cosy beds, log burners, and a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, cookware, a mini fridge, and a sink with drinking water. Solar lighting enhances the eco-friendly atmosphere. Outside, guests can enjoy a standing BBQ, a large circular fire pit, and private facilities, including a compost loo and a hot shower. The yurts are available from March to October, and rates are provided upon inquiry.
The on-site farm shop offers organic beef, pork, and lamb, perfect for BBQs, as well as seasonal produce, including fresh salad from the farm's polytunnels. Guests can also book farm walks for groups of six or more, providing an insightful tour of the farm’s organic production, conservation efforts, and archaeological features.
