Burton Springs Fishing & Holidays is a peaceful campsite situated in the charming hamlet of Burton, surrounded by beautiful countryside at the foot of the Quantock Hills near Bridgwater. This serene location offers an ideal retreat for a relaxing break in Somerset.
The campsite caters to tourers, campers, and glampers seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. A purpose-built camping field near Kingfisher Lake provides space for 8 tents and one standard belle tent, with parking available for one car per tent. The campsite also features 17 hard-standing pitches for caravans, campervans, and motorhomes, along with chemical waste disposal facilities.
For those seeking a more luxurious experience, Burton Springs offers three glamping pods: Quantock View, Lakeside View, and Bayley’s Rest, located alongside Alder Pool and Kingfisher Lake. Each pod features an outdoor seating area, a TV/DVD player, a double bed with folding beds, a small table and chairs, kettle, power, heating, and lighting. Guests can relax in a dedicated recreational and BBQ area near the pods while enjoying picturesque lake views.
The campsite also boasts two charming lotus belle tents. The standard tent accommodates families with one double and two single beds, while the Star Gazer tent, featuring a metal double bed, offers a romantic setting for couples. Both tents include a porch with seating, solar-powered lights, and a small USB power charger.
Facilities onsite include a shop stocked with essentials, snacks, and drinks, as well as eight purpose-built shower/toilet/sink cubicles, one of which is wheelchair accessible. A recreational room offers board games, a dartboard, and a fussball table, while children can enjoy a woodchipped playground area. The site also provides EV car charging.
Anglers will appreciate the three fishing lakes, which cater to all skill levels. Kingfisher Lake is renowned as one of the South West’s top catfish lakes, Alder Pool is ideal for mixed coarse fishing, and the Specimen Carp lake features carp weighing up to 30 lbs.
