The Old Rectory, Gulworthy, Tavistock, Devon
The Old Rectory is located in a picturesque spot on the border of Devon and Cornwall, within the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Conveniently close to the market town of Tavistock, Morwellham Quay (famous for the Edwardian Farm), and Dartmoor National Park, it offers a peaceful retreat for visitors seeking both natural beauty and historical interest.
This small, family-run park offers 22 pitches for tents, touring caravans, and motorhomes. It includes 6 grass pitches with electric hook-ups, 5 hard-standing electric hook-ups, and 3 private grass pitches without electricity. Guests appreciate the park's tranquil setting and its proximity to key attractions in the region.
For those looking for a unique camping experience, The Old Rectory also offers 4 glamping pods. Three standard pods accommodate up to two adults and two small children each, while one larger family pod can house up to four adults. Each pod is equipped with picnic tables for outdoor dining and relaxation. A shower block is conveniently located just behind the pods, providing easy access to amenities.
Visitors can enjoy the park’s dedicated dog-walking area and take in stunning views of Dartmoor from the Camping Field. The Old Rectory also operates a smallholding where it produces its own cider and keeps bees, chickens, ducks, and Gloucester Old Spot pigs.
Committed to environmental sustainability, the park runs a carbon offset credit scheme. Donations or proceeds from guests' electric usage go towards planting apple trees, each of which absorbs approximately 25 kg of CO2 annually and produces around 438 kg of oxygen. Smart meters are provided to monitor energy consumption.
For those interested in outdoor activities, The Old Rectory is home to its own Archery GB Registered Archery Club, where visitors can participate in archery sessions led by Declan, a GB Olympic Level 3 Coach.
