Ruberslaw Wild Woods Camping offers outstanding 'pitch your own' camping and glamping accommodation near Denholm. Our 500-acre farm is set in the centre of the Teviot Valley Special Landscape Area. We are perfect for an idyllic break in a beautiful part of the Scottish Borders.
We offer a range of wonderful experiences, whether you pitch your tent in the restored Edwardian Walled Garden or you choose one of our 3 woodland sites a short walk up into the woods, or you opt for glamping comfort in one of our remote safari tents.
A range of wildlife can be seen, including roe deer, hares & rabbits, red and grey squirrels, badgers, (who are very mischievous – one camper photographed a badger in his tent, and one 6 year old’s birthday cake was stolen the night before the party!), the occasional fox and if you are very quiet and lucky otters in the Teviot or Rulewater rivers.
Our walled garden camping pitches are small, medium, large and very large lawn pitches a Some are set under apple trees and all close to the Glasshouse, pond, and nearby Hub facilities, The garden has been beautifully restored to the original design with colourful flowering borders.
We also offer wild camping on the slopes of Ruberslaw, surrounded by hundreds of meters of woodland. Three woodland sites of seven pitches, each are available for individual bookings - you might even be lucky enough to have the wood to yourself.
All these sites are serviced by a discreetly positioned Thunderbox pine hut. These have a sink supplied with fresh water daily for drinking, washing and washing up and a composting toilet.
All campers have the use of The Hub where you park your cars. This is an undercover “courtyard” perfect for gatherings, socialising, eating and drinking. Facilities include a large open fireplace, well-stocked shop, kitchen area, showers, loos and washing areas and Wi-Fi for the addicted.
We provide a range of classic games, including croquet, giant pick up sticks, boules, quoits and garden chess.
